This tool trims off the factory selvage edge on vinyl floors, so the sheet can be accurately scribed and seamed. After inserting the selvage into the guidance slot, the blade is automatically positioned at the proper distance from the edge for trimming. The replaceable "V-shaped" blade is designed to make accurate, square cuts perpendicular with the floor. Simply pull the trimmer through the material to remove the selvage edge.
